"Okay." He's a little surprised at the request, but definitely doesn't object. And he knows shifting down and down, folding into himself like half-liquid clay, isn't going to turn Jedao's stomach. Once he's in a properly caricatured foxlike shape, he braces his front paws on Jedao's leg. UPPIES PLS.
Jedao scoops him up immediately, nuzzling his face against Edwin's little head, beaming softly. He loves Edwin no matter what he looks like. But the amorphous little creature always makes him feel nostalgic, like a mother looking at baby pictures and cooing, only better, because Jedao can still hug him.
"You remember Fives? That you saved when I was all messed up?" he asks, as he heads for the stairwell.
"Well, I'm sure he was grateful. But I'm going to introduce you two properly. He's married to Jedao One, so technically he's one of your grandfathers."
Extra squeezes are always appreciated. He settles in Jedao's arms as he walks, suddenly both on high alert and eager, and also incredibly nervous.
"I-- Should I bring a gift? I read somewhere that it's good to bring a gift when you're meeting family but I think that was if you're in love with someone from the family, not... Uh, does he know-- Does he know about me?"
