It's telling that Edwin doesn't resist Hunter moving his limbs. It wouldn't be telling to someone who doesn't know Edwin, but Hunter by now has to know how nervous Edwin gets around his physical autonomy. This time, though, he doesn't even tense when Hunter touches him, even though he does have a moment to wonder if the light is going to fall or go out before they send it floating upward. He watches it rise, rapt, his awe clear from his focus.
Edwin doesn't have a face right now but Hunter can practically feel the rapturous awe in him, in the way his tentacles are so still, at ease, his mask turned up to watch the light.
"I know you can't really see the stars in your room," he says quietly, not fully wanting to interrupt Edwin's moment. "But I think if we made enough of these, we could make it look like there are."
"Do you want me to carry you? I know it's not far, but- I can get us there faster, still. And when we get there, I can make sure there's plenty of light before you come out."
"...Yes." It's embarrassing, the relief, the idea of not having to deal with it at all. He lands on Hunter's palm, settles into the void-space in Hunter's mind that he's learned is what it feels like when he doesn't take any of the senses. It's dark, yes, but it's a different kind of dark, at least. He can feel Hunter's presence, and he can pretend he's closing his eyes.
Hunter slides the crown up his arm, brushing his thumb across it in a soft comfort.
And then Edwin will feel everything about Hunter flicker and glow, starting near his heart and bursting out all at once in a brilliant flash - not yellow, but gold - and around them the world seems to...
Not quite pause. But slow. That or he and Hunter are going very, very fast.
Just for a second, though, and then the door is slamming closed behind them, as they stand in the muggy greenhouse of Edwin's cabin. "Sorry-!" The apology from Hunter is quick - he made himself jump a little with the slam. "I didn't mean to make that so loud, h-hold on."
There's a flurry of movement from Hunter, a short cheep from Flapjack and another flicker of gold - magic - through him, starting in his core and shooting through Flapjack - and then there's a bright blaze of delight through Hunter.
"Okay." And he slips Edwin's crown off, resting it lightly on a cushion. "You can come out now."
He does, the way his tentacles and robe start to spin themselves into existence looking a little bit like a nest of yellow snakes slowly venturing out from a nest. Even though he knows the darkness is outside of the cabin, even though he can feel that the pressure of it has slacked off, been closed away, he's still frightened.

He looks past Hunter, toward the hall, and shivers. "We should... go then. To my cabin."

His spirit still gives a little shiver.
