He makes a quiet, appreciative noise at the plants, giving the two smiley-face pots an extra gentle pet on their leaves. He names a handful of the other ones quietly, mostly as practice for himself, muttering their names in several languages, quiet enough that an average person would have trouble hearing.
"Does Hakkai like plants? Would a plant be a good wedding present?"
"Well, don't spend everything on us," Jedao murmurs. "You..." his voice chokes, very slightly, just for a moment. "You gave me such a good gift already, when you took care of me," he murmurs. Then picks out one sturdy, branching stem.
